As it turns out, however, Apex Legends is really good . EA announced Apex Legends reached 25 million players within its first seven days of availability, which should indicate just how quickly it is catching on with battle royale fans. On top of that, the game has already achieved a concurrent player total of over 2 million, another remarkable feat for a title that is only finding its footing within a crowded, competitive genre. For context, that means Apex Legends is currently growing at a rate faster than Fortnite
Lifeline is a medic on the battlefield, deploying health through D.O.C. Heal Drones to those in need. She has the fastest revival time out of all the characters and that comes with a shield to cover both her and her fallen squad member. She's also able to call in a care package that gets dropped into the battlefield from ab

The most impressive thing about the sudden rise of Apex Legends is that the game hasn't even delivered on many of the promises Respawn Entertainment has made regarding its early post-launch content. The game is slated to receive holiday-themed loot, a tournament hosted on Twitch, and its first season of content in March. The latter of those additions will feature the debut of the game's Battle Pass, new Legends, weapons, and l
Up first then, is Gibraltar. This character is an armor looking powerhouse, looking kitted up for battle. We get a look at an example of one of his takedowns which consists of of...well, smashing the enemy's head into the floor. Living by the SARAS Search and Rescue motto, this tough looking brute can shield players with a Dome of Protection. He also has a gun shield he can hide behind while remaining mobile, or he can call in a bombardment with his orbital str
Apex Legends released just one week ago, but it has already become one of the most talked about games in the industry. Developer Respawn Entertainment endured a brief period of fan outrage when it was revealed Titanfall 3 had been postponed - or worse - and that EA had asked the studio to create the next big battle royale title instead. That anger lasted for all of a few hours before the game released, though, and has since been replaced by the kind of excitement usually reserved for a AAA game launching after years spent publicly in development. With Apex Legends hitting over 25 million players already, it's clear that the game is already entering rarefied air in the indus
To promote the game, publisher Electronic Arts is going the influencer route, having invited and paid streamers and YouTubers to a secret LA event last week to play the game. Tonight, those attendees all posted sponsored tweets in unison, sharing excitement that they can discuss the game tomorrow after Respawn's presentation. All of these tweets, paid for by EA, were hashtagged as an #Ad so take that for what you will. This is marketing, not personal opini
Mirage is another character, although a lot more laid back and cocky. He's able to duplicate himself with Vanishing Act to confuse the enemy and get away to another position, or he can create a holograph of himself to trick the enemy into shooting at his hologram, giving away the enemy position, wasting ammo, and causing confusion. This character is locked behind a payw
This effort to foster a sense of inclusion in Apex Legends is undoubtedly genuine on the part of Respawn, but one can't help but think that it would be more impactful for the vast majority of players if any evidence of Gibraltar's and Bloodhound's status as members of the LGBTQ community was actually present in the game itself. Instead, these fascinating looks into the characters' lives are isolated to their respective corners of the internet, wholly external to the game. While this doesn't quite resemble Blizzard's delayed reveal about Overwatch 's Soldier: 76 that invited accusations of queerbaiting, it's hard to argue that the Apex Legends players who Respawn is attempting to represent would be better served by also including these revelations in-g
Mirage's strength lies in creating overwhelming scenarios for enemies where they aren't exactly sure what to do. If you can create enough uncertainty in the enemy team... it can give yours a severe advant

Passively, Lifeline activates a shield wall to protect her and a teammate while she's reviving them. She can also revive teammates faster than other Legends and can use healing items 25% faster. Lifeline's first active ability is a D.O.C. Healing Drone that heals a teammate's health bar while they're close to it. This ability can save you an incredible amount of healing items that you might need in a pinch. Lifeline's Ultimate ability calls down a supply drop that contains high-quality defensive gear, attachments, and healing/shielding it
