Microtransactions have been an increasingly touchy subject for gamers in the last few years, especially since Star Wars Battlefront 2 found itself in the spotlight after DICE pushed consumers too far. Game developers have been hard-pressed to find innovative ways to increase revenue earned from titles, but today's story is something else entirely: the developer of Warframe removed a microtransaction because it proved too successful. Alongside the agile Limbo comes the devastating Pyrana Prime, which packs one heck of a punch in a small package, and Destreza Prime, allowing for nimbler battles.

Outside of a sharp-edged revamped appearance, Zephyr’s armor has increased significantly from 15 to 75, which could be a tad higher considering it makes her a little more vulnerable, but then again her shields and health remain surprisingly favorable all things considering. Zephyr’s energy tank also has received a 50% bump, which only adds to her maneuverable abilities requiring little energy in the first place. Additionally, Zephyr follows suit with Ash in that she has received a boost in run speed. Even though she’s still not as fast as Loki, she’s a close runner-up alongside Mirage, Nova and Ashe Prime. If anything, Zephyr is the ideal for getting through areas as quick as possible, which could be complimented with Volt’s Speed ability.

Warframe lets players form a party of up to 4 players (it can be played solo as well) and travel the stars, from planet to planet, completing missions and earning credits, experience and materials. It’s all about managing your Rift and which dimension you’re in. You’re even able to shift in and out of dimensions by rolling (or in Limbo’s case, it’s more of a dash), which leaves behind a portal for teammates to use. He’s a very unique character to play as, and works surprisingly well for both solo and cooperatively play. While playing solo, you can enter a safe zone where all damage is void, which helps in sticky situations. Cooperatively you can freeze enemies in place and even allow your friends to enter the rift – great for activities such as defense or excavation. He’s incredibly fun to play as if you get him down, one that does require some work, but you’ll be rewarded in doing so. Outside of how he plays, Limbo Prime comes with a higher shield capacity, which if you’re skilled enough, you probably won’t even need all that much, along with an increase of armor, and your energy pool. It also comes with an extra two polarities, ensuring you won’t need to Forma him too many times.

Grendel will arrive with Warframe ’s upcoming The Old Blood update, which also brings a bunch of new features. The Kuva Lich promises to be a player’s personal nemesis, acquiring whatever abilities were last used against it to turn them back on the Tenno. In an interview belonging to the Noclip documentary series by Daniel O'Dwyer, Digital Extremes Studio Manager Sheldon Carter detailed an unexpected result that occurred when the developer introduced a small microtransaction for Kubrows, an in-game virtual pet.
