Of course, there's the main way of completing voyages. Players can carry up to three voyages each so stock up with click through the up coming post faction voyages you're planning to level up in reputation, and to be effective in terms of gold earnings rate, complete all the ones you have and then redeem them all at once. These events are open to everyone on a server though so expect company. Other players can and often will attempt to interfere, destroy your ship, or take your hard-earned wealth for themselves. Such is life as a pirate. Although there are some wonderful stories of players working together and sharing loo
Sea of Thieves launched in March earlier this year and has exceeded Microsoft's expectations. Rare has since run its first major post-launch event, The Hungering Deep, and just yesterday Rare started the first of what it calls "Bilge Rat Adventures," which are smaller scale events that will fill in the weeks between major content releases. Rare's firing on all cylinders, and the studio seems like it's in its best condition in a decade -- it's the perfect time to throw a celebrat
Rare is well known for slipping Easter eggs into their games and Sea of Thieves is extreme in this regard. But now some of those Easter Eggs seem more like event foreshadowing. Several references to Banjo-Kazooie lie hidden among the islands of Sea of Thieves , but one island in particular is now drawing attention. On Plunder island, several references to Banjo-Kazooie are found -- a painting of a series of feathers, references to a Phoenix, giant statues of birds, and most important of all, a large painting of a very big bear with a red bird flying overh
For all skeleton encounters, take out the ranged ones first (and focus on skeletons manning cannons if your own ship is within firing range). The easiest strategy is to have crew mates lure groups of skeletons near your own ship cannons and even better, to use red gunpowder barrels to one-shot any group of skelet
At outposts for instance, if there's another crew nearby, stay close to to the Order of Souls and Gold Hoarders merchants and have a blunderbuss ready. This is where other players will be redeeming valuable loot and when they're holding said loot, they cannot also have a weapon at the ready, nor can they sprint. This is an easy kill and since you're at the NPC already to redeem the loot, it's an instant redemption for your t
In Sea of Thieves , the overarching goal is to become a pirate legend. So, how does one do that? Honestly, that picture is still not quite clear. The game does an incredibly poor job of telling you how to begin your journey. It gives you a very brief tutorial on how to use items, open the item wheel, find quests, and using the voyage table on the ship. Otherwise, you are thrust into this world to figure out everything yours
Let's not sugar-coat it: Microsoft has a problem with its Xbox One console, and it stems from its current roster of exclusive games... or lack thereof. Now, the tried and true first-party blockbusters have already appeared on the Xbox One – with Halo , Gears of War , and Forza all making their presence felt on the system – while new properties like Sea of Thieves and Sunset Overdrive have helped provide a unique reason for console gamers to invest in the hardware outside of its expected lin
The promise of a mythical creature lurking somewhere out in the massive, sprawling ocean of Sea of Thieves , capable of pulling down boats is no doubt a thrilling prospect for many players. While the closed beta seems to have held a lot of content back, another recent datamine seems to indicate that the full game will have plenty more for prospective pirates to do. While new factions have already been revealed, new information reveals that the game will contain plenty of animals as well as a wider variety of creatures and enemies to fight. Players will likely be able to customize their ships with new flags, sails, and much more, as well as find new weapons, instruments, and food as w
That is the long and short of it. To become the best pirate you can be, you have to complete a bunch of fetch quests to level your reputation with the three factions. In the first few hours, these voyages are fun and intriguing. However, they quickly become tedious, repetitive, and unsatisfying. The gameplay loop of Sea of Thieves requires you to take multiple trips from your ship back to your destination, no matter which faction's tasks you are completing. The gold you earn after completing these voyages and turning in the treasure you found to the correct vendor is nowhere close to the amount needed to purchase the simplest of items. Even when you do finally have enough to buy an item, you don't actually benefit from it. Since the items are cosmetic, the only perk is looking c
